Light Spring Color Palette

Also called Light Warm Spring. Same season — one palette.

Light Spring is light, warm and clear — the warm counterpart to Light Summer, and the pair are confused constantly because both are pale and low contrast. The split is undertone. If gold suits you and your best colors have sun in them rather than water, you are here.

Your 8 colors

Light, warm and clear rather than muted. Peach, aqua, warm pink, buttercream. The distinction from Light Summer matters: your light colors are clear, not dusty. Greying them takes the life out.

Your neutrals

Warm ivory rather than white. Pure white is too cold and too hard, and warm ivory does the job without introducing a contrast your coloring does not have.

Light warm grey and soft camel are your working neutrals. They are warm enough to belong and light enough not to dominate.

Warm taupe is the deepest neutral that stays comfortable. Anything past it starts to overwhelm.

Gold or silver?

Yellow gold or rose gold, ideally light rather than heavy. The scale of the jewelry matters as much as the metal in a season this delicate.

What to avoid

Black — far too heavy, and cold on top of it.

Burgundy — deep and cool, which is both problems at once.

Heavy dark neutrals — charcoal, espresso and navy all sit below your range.

Muted dusty tones — these belong to Light Summer, and on you they read as faded rather than soft.

How to tell if you're really Light Spring

Light Spring's twin is Light Summer. Both are pale and low contrast, so undertone is the only split that matters.

Gold against silver at the jaw, in daylight. Light Spring looks warmer and healthier in gold. Light Summer looks cleaner in silver.

Then test clarity. Hold a clear aqua against a dusty one. Light Spring wants the clear version; the dusty one goes lifeless. Light Summer is comfortable with the softer one.

Against True Spring, check value. If medium-depth warm colors like coral and turquoise start to feel heavy, you are Light Spring.
